I am back from Bangkok safe and sound. During my trip to Bangkok, the situation in there is chaos and riots happened. It also happened to be their Thai New Year ” Songkran Festival”. Thailand’s most celebrated festival is the Songkran Festival. It starts April 13 and lasts between 3 and 10 days, depending on where you are in Thailand. The word Songkran is from the Sanskrit meaning the beginning of a new Solar Year, but nowadays Thailand celebrates the New Year on 31 December.
The Thai people celebrate this festival with water. Everyone gets soaking wet and since it is the hottest season of the year, the custom is quite refreshing. Songkran is a Public Spring Cleaning Day, supported by the religious belief that anything old and useless must be thrown away or it will bring bad luck to the owner.
As you can see not all is gloomy in Thailand, people are still having fun splashing water and taking water gun and shooting at each other. Its very fun and everywhere is a battling field to play with 😛
As you can see everyone is enjoying themselves and getting wet . Very Wet!!! So many water gun on sales during this period 🙂
Went to chutuchuk at Mo chit BTS and many people were there as usual on Sunday. But its their New Year, alot of the shops are closed. Didnt managed to buy alot of stuff. So sad. The weather is VERY VERY VERY VERY VERY HOTTTTTTTTTTTTTT!!!! I am really melting. the weather is crazy like 36- 37 degree. You could feel the heat once you step out of the hotel!!!!
When finishing shopping and on the way back to BTS, alot of crowd was looking at the military tanker on the road. Its the first time i have seen such on the road. Its scared me thats what is going to happen!!
